  • Characterful period property with attractive original features
  • Private / enclosed garden with a lawn and a pretty patio seating area
  • Located in the coastal village of Weybourne, 0.5 mile stroll from the village beach
Property code: NCC19

A delightful former pub, offering period style accommodation for three guests, affording a fantastic location in the coastal village of Weybourne, just 0.5 miles from the local beach.

This cottage is located close to Weybourne village centre, just a few hundred metres from the shop, tearoom, and pub. Continue through the village to discover the shingle beach which lies just 0.5 miles from the property which is a popular spot with anglers. For one of the region’s most spectacular sandy beaches, head west around the coast to the harbour town of Wells-next-the-Sea some 14 miles away, or alternatively pay a visit to Cromer, a traditional seaside resort which lies just 8 miles east of the cottage.

Three external steps lead to the front door of this cottage, which opens into the cosy lounge/diner where guests can immediately make themselves at home on the comfortable sofa. In the evenings, light the woodburner and cosy up with a favourite film on the TV/DVD. In the kitchen the flagstone floor brings an authentic character to the room which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washer/dryer. There is also a second dining table in the kitchen with seating for two: an ideal spot for enjoying a morning coffee.  The bathroom is also located on the ground floor and offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Steep cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor where there are two bedrooms. The first bedroom has twin beds which can be pushed together to form a double, and is a homely room overlooking the front of the property. The second bedroom, meanwhile, is a peaceful single room. Please be aware that the period and style of the property means that there is a sloping ceiling and some reduced head-height in the first-floor rooms.

Outside there is a lawned garden to the rear of the property, as well as a pleasant patio with garden furniture providing guests with a place to enjoy relaxed al fresco drinks during the summer months. There is parking provided for two cars.

There is much to like about the cottage, unfortunately it badly let down by the cleaning and general upkeep. A 250 year old former public house, it is very quaint and attractive. The living room is just right for a couple, as is the main bedroom. The kitchen is fairly well stocked, but again too many pointless objects gathering dust. The garden andRead more patio area are a nice size, a little swamped by the plants. Giving the owner the benefit of the doubt and hoping that Covid has caused the issues Hide

We really enjoyed staying in the cottage. The location is great and the table just outside the kitchen looking onto the back garden is lovely. We ate out every day. The only issue I had was with the steepness of the stairs. These are not for everyone. All in all though a pleasant week's stay.

Delightful cottage, well equipped with a lovely garden. The local bus runs every 30 minutes to various coastal towns. No need to use your car. A ten minute walk to Westbourne beach, opening up to beautiful long coastal walks. An amazing village , with a 13th century church. If you want a restful break, this is the place. The locals are very friendlRead morey and there is a convenient corner shop and exterior tables for coffee and snacks. Hide

A really comfortable little cottage in a delightful area of North Norfolk. We would definitely want to return to Crown House. The stairs were fine for us but they are very steep and would be treacherous for old or frail guests. The cottage has a gorgeous garden to sit and relax in after a day walking and exploring the area, and the sitting room andRead more bedrooms are extremely cosy and welcoming. Hide

Perfect little cottage for the both of us and in a great location. The cottage is just great as it is, really cosy with a lovely garden. The Maltings Hotel is just across the road as well, with a great little bar. We've had some lovely holidays here and can't wait to come back again.

This is a lovely cottage in the perfect location for both the village amenities and the beach, you just have to be aware of the traffic on a busy road with no footpath. It could not be better placed for exploring the wonderful North Norfolk coast and surrounding area.

This is a picturesque, well-equipped and comfortable cottage in a very pretty village not far from the sea, with a lovely corner shop and fascinating church very close by. A well-kept garden and nice patio were pleasant places to spend time, but the stairs are not for the faint-hearted! Good for a youngish couple and child.
