Pretty barn conversion property offering stylish accommodation for four guests, one of two properties at this idyllic location in the Norfolk village of Briston, just four miles from Holt.

This barn conversion property is situated in the village of Briston, within walking distance of two welcoming pubs and several handy village shops including a traditional family butcher, a deli, and a bakery. Just four miles away, the attractive Georgian town of Holt is a lovely place to while away an afternoon, browsing the bookshops and having lunch at one of the restaurants or pubs. Just a few miles further to the north the spectacular North Norfolk coast has something for everyone, from vast sandy beaches such as the one at Holkham Bay, to tranquil nature reserves, and pretty seaside towns. For those with an interest in heritage and history, the splendid houses and estates at both Holkham and Sandringham are not to be missed and make for particularly enjoyable day trips.

Stepping through the front door of this barn conversion property, guests cannot help but be impressed by the impressive open-plan living space with its grand vaulted ceiling with exposed wooden beams. The lounge area is at one end of the room with the kitchen at the other, separated by a dining area which is dominated by a traditional Welsh dresser. The lounge area has a deep corner sofa for guests to relax on and has a TV, DVD player and CD player in the lounge, as well as a selection of games and books for guests to enjoy. The kitchen area is well-equipped and has a lovely country feel to it, offering an AGA-style oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The first of the property’s bedrooms, an attractive double room, can also be found on the ground floor, as can the bathroom with its claw-foot freestanding bath, shower over the bath, and WC. A set of wooden stairs lead from the lounge area to the second bedroom, a mezzanine twin room which is set in the eaves of the property and, therefore has a sloping ceiling and some reduced head-height.

Outside, there is a private shingle garden which offers an attractive seating area with a BBQ and table and chairs making it an ideal space to enjoy alfresco dining. In addition to this, there is a children’s play area with a climbing frame which is shared with the neighbouring cottage. There is off-road parking for two cars.

A lovely property - very well maintained and comfortable. Like home from home. Certainly would recommend this - great parking if you have a large vehicle which is certainly a big advantage.

Good property for a couple but the road it backs on to can be noisy. We had issues with the WiFi signal which we were not able to utilise during our stay. We understand that this is not a permanent problem.

We had a fantastic week in this cottage despite the weather being inclement at times. Cottage felt spacious and was well equipped. Our boys particularly enjoyed their mezzanine bedroom. Good location for exploring North Norfolk. Owners friendly but unobtrusive.

We had a lovely stay in Briston, nice village with a great park/field for the children and the shops were very close. The cottage was clean with a very well equipped kitchen, the shared play area was lovely for the children and we could watch them play from our outside area. The only negative for us was the road outside was quite busy with lorries Read moreand traffic so unfortunately it did disturb our sleep sometimes. The cottage also had a DVD player, CD player and a nice BBQ outside. Hide

Excellent barn conversion with a lovely vaulted ceiling giving a feeling of space. Good access to the coast and not too long a drive to Norwich and The Broads if desired. Some local shopping facilities available in the village, and Holt is only a few miles away. The Three Horseshoes pub is just along the road on the outskirts of the village.
