Nestling in a picturesque location overlooking the Glaven Valley, Wiveton is a charming Norfolk village within walking distance of the delightful coastal villages of Cley and Blakeney. Set in the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Wiveton is perfect for guests looking to enjoy birdwatching or fantastic country and coastal walks. The Wiveton Downs are a Site of Special Scientific Interest and the Blakeney National Nature Reserve is nearby, offering the opportunity to see grey seals in their natural habitat. There are plenty of lovely towns and villages to explore including Stiffkey, Salthouse and Sharrington. The popular coastal town of Cromer is just a short drive away and offers plenty of traditional seaside holiday activities.

Situated in working farmland, this wonderful cottage offers fantastic views and excellent accommodation with plenty of room for children and dogs to roam safely. On entering this beautiful property, you will find yourself in the spacious and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which retains many original features including a beamed ceiling and oak doors which open onto a large enclosed courtyard. With lots of comfy seating, Smart TV, a large wood burner set in a feature chimney breast, and a selection of books, AGA-style-style and games to enjoy, the welcoming and cosy lounge is an ideal space to unwind in. There is an attractive dining area with space for up to ten guests. Heading over to the charming kitchen, you will find it fully equipped with a large electric range style oven, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities can be found in the nearby utility room. You will also find a playroom with TV/DVD and plenty of seating, which is an ideal space for children to play and relax. Exploring the ground floor further you will find three cosy bedrooms: there’s a spacious double room with a king-size bed, a further double room with an en suite  shower room, comprising of shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC. A  twin bedroom. There’s also a second  bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. There is also a separate ground-floor WC. An oak staircase leads you from the large hallway up to the first floor where you will find two more bedrooms: there is a large twin room with an en-suite  shower room comprising of shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. A  double room with a super-king-size bed and an en-suite shower room with WC.

Stepping outside, you will find a walled, enclosed yard with a stone terrace with garden furniture, fire pit  and a BBQ. The garden also has a large lawn, and there is plenty of space for children to play, as well as a climbing frame. There is parking available for up to five cars. Please be aware that the property is on farmland where there are livestock (sheep and pigs) so if you are bringing dogs with you, they must be kept under control. There are also many wild deer so it is recommended that dogs are kept on the lead.

  • From the main road the drive leading to the property is via a farm track which is an unadopted road
  • The gardener may visit during guest stay to cut the grass and do general gardening jobs
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 4 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £500 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £50. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

A perfect place for a group of people to spend a weekend together. The open plan living area was perfect for relaxing around the fire. The kitchen and dinning area was well equipped to cater for us all and the over all decor of Boxes was charming! The Boxes is a fantastic venue for a family holiday - it gave us an excellent space for three couples and children. Facilities are all there - and the arrangement of the rooms is well thought out. Fabulous property which was perfect for a family gathering. The main living space has plenty of room to eat and socialise togther, with a separate smaller living room if needed. Really lovely place for peace and quiet.

The property is absolutely fantastic: warm, cosy and comfortable. It was everything the pictures promised and more - we couldn't believe our luck at having found it. It was the perfect location for a Christmas getaway and we had a brilliant time.

My surprise 70th birthday treat chosen by my wife. Perfect in every detail, couldn't have had a better location for the occasion. Location, facilities and overall ambiance just perfect. We have stayed at The Boxes many times and always enjoy our time there. Such a beautiful location, and the property has everything we need for our holiday. This is a great place to literally get away from everything. The bridlepath leading to it is worth the bumpy ride! Well equipped, safe for children and dogs. Nice walk through the fields to a great coffee and lunch shop and other amenities. Visit the Shell Museum too!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Boxes. The property was so lovely, and felt like a home away from home. The location couldn't be more perfect for a nice, quiet relaxing weekend away with lots to do nearby too.

Beautiful property with stunning views!!. The track is probably not suitable for some cars considering you do have to drive to the local amenities. On a hill so a bit gusty at times but you can't control the weather!! Overall a wonderful stay, I loved the open plan atmosphere very inclusive for a large group. We had a lovely time at the cottage, we had one issue with the water while away, but this was sorted quickly by the owners.
