Set in a tranquil and secluded spot in the heart of the picturesque Norfolk countryside, this pretty 1920s writer's cottage is full of charm, offering idyllic accommodation in lovely surroundings.
There are superb walks from the door through the 800-year-old National Trust woodland and heath, with elevated views to the coast. The sea is about three quarters of a mile away and there are plenty of breathtaking coastal walks to enjoy. The popular seaside town of Cromer is just 3.5 miles away and is known for its traditional seaside entertainment, including an end-of-the-pier theatre, glorious sandy beaches, fish and chip shops, an RNLI lifeboat museum, a zoo, cinema, children’s playbarn and a golf course. The town is also famous for Cromer crabs, and for the fishing fleet which brings its catch for sale in the town. The famous Norfolk Broads are just 22 miles away.
On entering this beautiful property, which is set on one level with the exception of the single bedroom, you will find the spacious and attractive open-plan lounge/diner. This light and tastefully decorated space features triple aspect windows which allow the light to flood into the room, plenty of comfortable seating and a Victorian style open fire which is perfect for roasting the chestnuts that can be freshly gathered from the woods. There’s also a TV, DVD and CD for you to enjoy at the end of the day. The dining area has views overlooking the gardens. The kitchen looks out towards the woodland and features an oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. Exploring further, you will find two cosy ground-floor bedrooms: a double and a twin. There’s also a bathroom complete with bath and separate shower. There is also a single bedroom which is accessed via a spiral staircase and is tucked away in the eaves of the house. Sloping ceilings and a dormer window give the room a delightfully cosy atmosphere.
Heading outside you will find a garden with a large lawn, mature trees, shrubs and furniture, making it a delightful space to unwind in. The parking area is to the front of the cottage with space for two cars. Please note the spiral staircase is of standard construction so please take care when using it. We ask parents not to allow children on this spiral staircase unless they are supervised. As the living accommodation is open-plan the staircase is accessible at all times and cannot be shut off to prevent children from using it.
