An elegant end-terrace cottage in the sleepy Norfolk village of Weybourne, home to a great pub, a village store and a large pebble beach on which you can enjoy bracing walks.

Weybourne was once a favoured dropping off point for smugglers, but today the only things landing on the beach are fishing boats delivering catch that you will find on the menu at the superb Ship Inn. Not much happens in this small, laid-back village, which is what makes it such a perfect destination for those seeking to get away from it all. A village store stocks all the basics, but for more extensive supplies you will need to make the short, three-mile drive to Sheringham. A traditional seaside town, it features a beach of fine sand, cliffs, shops, pubs and a steam railway that stops off at Weybourne on its route to the Georgian town of Holt.

At the front of the house you enter through the front door into a lobby, from where you can access the large lounge with comfortable leather sofas, DVD and CD. French doors lead out to a pretty patio garden, an electric flame effect fire. The contemporary kitchen/diner features lovely tiled flooring and includes a microwave and dishwasher, as well as a chunky wooden dining table seating six. A utility room leading off the kitchen is equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, separate freezer and coat racks. The ground floor also has a separate shower room with WC and underfloor heating. Up a flight of stairs you will find a trio of super-comfortable bedrooms that each have built-in wardrobes: one with a king-size bed, one twin room and a single. The underfloor-heated bathroom comprises a bath, shower over the bath and WC.

Outside both the small front and larger rear gardens are enclosed by fencing so suitable for children and up to two dogs. The rear south facing garden features a patio area with wooden decking, table and chairs. Off-road parking for two cars at the rear includes use of the garage for a car or for bicycles and beach equipment. There is additional off-road parking at the front, though not part of the property so only when available.

Return visit did not disappoint. Nice to see a few new additions, ie stereo, tv, crockery & down stairs loo seat! A sun umbrella to cover the outside table is a must. I seem to remember there being one last year. Worth considering for next season. The garden looked neat and tidy and had obviously had some TLC. Very lucky with September heat wave, aRead more very relaxing holiday. Thank you Hide

Great property in a great area. Just some considerations... The garden area was a little "closed in", don't expect a view, but it waslittle larger than we expected so good for our dog. There no WiFi, and not much mobile signal either, so be warned if you have teenagers! We struggled a little with a small fridge and no fans, especially was it was a Read morereally hot week. But all in all, a great little cottage and would certainly stay there again. Hide

We have now been to this cottage on 3 occasions. It is the best one we found for location, space, quality of internal fittings and local facilities.
