A tranquil and comfortable romantic retreat for a couple or a great holiday base for a family, this quintessential country cottage nestles in an idyllic village just a few miles from the Norfolk coast.

The picturesque village of Wiveton overlooks the beautiful Glaven Valley and is an ideal base for enjoying delightful country walks. The charming costal villages of Cley next the Sea and Blakeney are within 2 miles, and are known for their beautiful nature reserves. You can also take a boat trip from Blakeney Point out to see a colony of grey seals. The popular seaside resort of Cromer is 13 miles away and is famous for its traditional seaside activities and entertainment, or you could head to quieter seaside towns like Sheringham or Wells-next-the-Sea, which are within 9 miles. Among many local attractions are Langham Glass, the Muckleburgh Military Collection, Binham Priory and the Thursford Steam Museum.

 

The cottage is accessed through the garden, down some steps and into the hall, and retains many original features including exposed beams and Pamment flooring. From here you enter the large and cosy lounge which features plenty of comfortable seating, TV and a feature fireplace. There is also a reading area located at one end of the lounge with a bay window overlooking the garden. Exploring further, you will find the attractive shaker-style kitchen/diner which has a delightful dining area and is fully equipped with an oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is also a ground-floor shower room complete with WC. Going upstairs you will find two cosy bedrooms. There’s a spacious double room with a king size bed and plenty of storage, plus a twin room which overlooks the garden and has a sloping ceiling. There is also a WC on the first floor.

 

Stepping outside, the pretty walled garden has an abundance of cottage garden plants including hollyhocks and gorgeously scented roses. There is a large south-facing lawn around which the flower beds are arranged. Parking is available off-road for one car.

 

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
