Set in peaceful and picturesque surroundings on the owners grounds, with the use of an indoor pool and sauna, this is a perfect bolthole for a couple looking to celebrate any occasion.

Close to Harleston (3 miles) and Beccles (13 miles) and located on the Suffolk/Norfolk border, this stylish barn conversion is the ideal base from which to explore both coast and county of East Anglia. The location is also near the southerly scenic waterways of the Broads National Park and offers access to the wonderful coastal locations of Southwold and Dunwich, both of which are just 22 miles away. For keen walkers and bird watchers, you’ll enjoy scenic trails along the River Waveney where an abundance of wildlife can be spotted. RSPB Minsmere and National Trust Dunwich Heath Nature Reserve are also within easy reach and the historic cathedral city of Norwich is just 19 miles away.

From the main road, drive down the private driveway towards the owners’ property where you will see ample parking and a sign outside the front of this retreat. Enter the property through the front door which leads you into the cosy open-plan kitchen and dining area and you will instantly get the feeling that this has been furnished and built to provide a real home away from home atmosphere. The kitchen provides you with everything you need to prepare a light snack or hearty meal with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher and once you are ready to serve, move to the table and chairs in the kitchen to enjoy your meal and reflect over the day's adventures. The master bedroom/lounge area has a king-size bed, along with ample storage space for clothes and personal items, and a Smart TV, so after a busy day exploring you can always catch up on your favourite show or movie. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over and WC, so why not revitalise those senses before you head out exploring for the day?

Heading outside, there is an enclosed patio area with a table and chairs to enjoy a morning coffee or a spot of al fresco dining from. Next door to your holiday home is an indoor pool, sauna and games room area which is shared with the owners and not only provides splendid countryside and sunset views – it also gives you the perfect place to relax, unwind and recharge your batteries. This area is available to guests between 9am and 8pm, seven days a week and the pool is heated from 1st April through to 1st November (please bring your own towels for pool and sauna use). The owner has beautiful grounds with a pond that guests are more than welcome to explore; there are also neighbouring alpacas to admire next door. We have recently stayed at Heron's Rest and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We needed a weekend of quiet and calm and this is exactly what we got. Claire and Richard made us feel extremely welcome yet also didn't intrude on our stay. We were able to use the BBQ as the weather was good to us! And also made use of the swimming pool and games area. The wRead moreeekend went too quickly! Hide
