  • Beautiful views to the estuary, sea, and salt marshes
  • Located in a premier position in the attractive coastal village of Blakeney in an Area of Outstanding Beauty in North Norfolk
Property code: NCC37

An exquisitely restored Grade II listed cottage sleeping two guests, offering views across the estuary in the village of Blakeney with its bustling quay, an interesting array of shops, and pubs.

This beautiful cottage is located in a premier position on Mariners Hill in the village of Blakeney, a picturesque coastal village situated on the River Glaven estuary. There is a small but eclectic range of shops including a fantastic deli, a seaside supplies store, and a fishmonger’s selling freshly caught produce. Why not hop on board one of the seal-watching boats which take visitors out to the nearby National Trust nature reserve.

From the front door of this cottage on Mariners Hill, the first room that guests come into is the sitting room with its beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace. From the sitting room guests can enjoy the estuary views or simply cosy up and watch a favourite programme on the TV. Doors open onto Mariners Hill which commands the finest views in Blakeney and where guests can enjoy a cup of tea / glass of wine and watch the sunsets over the estuary. Moving through to the charming kitchen/diner, an attractive room with a welcoming, homely feel to it. The dining table seats eight guests, whilst the range of kitchen equipment includes a Range cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Wooden stairs from the sitting room lead up to the bedroom on the first floor, where guests will find an antique double bed, a built-in wardrobe, and a prettily-tiled feature fireplace, as well as a recently refurbished en-suite shower room with power shower and WC. The cottage also benefits from a new high pressure water system providing high pressure hot and cold water throughout and a new Monarch water softener.

Outside, to the rear of the cottage there is a private sunny south-facing patio garden for which there is garden furniture provided, offering guests a pleasant spot to sit out and enjoy relaxed al fresco dining. There is unallocated roadside parking near to the cottage.

This is our 2nd stay in middle cottage and we booked our third on the last night! The cottage is cute and comfortable with everything you need based in a fantastic location. Blakeney has a fantastic pub, deli & coffee shop and lovely shops on the high street - but to be honest all I think about when I think about middle cottage is the sound of the Read morewaves and the incredible views out to sea Hide

This is a truly exceptional cottage, with wonderful character in a great location. The decor throughout is truly beautiful. And there is a lovely private yard outside. And the kitchen is beautifully laid out. The only surprising disappointment was the very uncomfortable bed, which desperately needs a proper sprung divan instead of punishing wooden Read moreslats! The main setee is also uncomfortable due to its large size. This is such a shame, as the cottage is clearly loved and cared for by the owners. Hide

Beautiful cottage with excellent location. Great views over the estuary with coastal path just a minutes walk away. Blakeney is excellent base for exploring this beautiful area. Only issue might be parking but we didn't have any problems.

Lovely cottage in a great location; well equipped and very comfortable. Lovely walks from the front door, for birdwatching, exercise or a simple stroll; other great locations also nearby. We particularly loved the view from the Church tower. The cottage isn't facing on to the road (faces the sea, up a passageway, which gives a great view from the bRead moreedroom, but be aware when trying to find it). We imagine it gets very busy in peak times and parking could be fun at high tide. Highly recommend! Hide

This cottage is ideally situated- close to the harbour and all amenities and with easy access to a grassy bank with benches so we could sit and admire the views over a cup of tea or glass of wine. The cottage is equipped to a high standard and is very tasteful. We hope to return in the future.
