Explore the rich history of the area with a visit to the village green, where you will find the remains of a 15th century medieval stone ‘wayside cross’. The village is best known for its 12th century priory, a benedictine monastery now managed by English Heritage. Holt lies 7.5 miles east - a must visit for its picturesque yards filled with individual boutiques, cafes and galleries - while Wells-next-the-Sea, 5.5 miles away, is perfect for a classic British beachside day out.
