The Cattle Shed is a converted traditional brick and flint built building with pantile roof that has been sensitively renovated and modernised. The result is a contemporary interior well blended with original features to create a spacious, light and a very comfortable home. It is most conveniently located in a rural location set back from the road yet close to the market town of North Walsham and within a mile and a half to the coast at Mundesley.
A solid oak front door opens into a large hall (room for coats and boots) and leads into the main house with the large living accommodation to the left and the bedrooms to the right.
The large spacious living area is a delight with a vaulted ceiling over two big comfortable sofas and arm chairs, a large TV and all is open plan to the ‘u’ shaped kitchen with breakfast bar. Three arches open up the dining area which in turn leads out into the garden.
As you walk into the living space the kitchen is to your left with plain white modern units a grey toned worktop and a new range cooker. There is a separate undercounter fridge and freezer & a dishwasher. There is also a breakfast bar with comfortable stools.
Turning around, in the centre of this wonderful spacious and airy room is the sitting room. Light floods in here via high veluxes ( they can be adjusted to cool this room if required) and then the room is divided off by three large arches into the dining area. A wall full of ceiling to floor windows allow in light and double doors open to give you access to the dearest part-walled garden.
The bedrooms are to the north of the barn conversion. The master room is large enough to have a separate dressing area as well as an ensuite shower. To one side of the master room is the single room. This is a smaller room but perfectly adequate and can have a pull out bed in here. When this is up the room is really only suitable for children as the floor space is restricted. Th second double room is further down the hall and is opposite the family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
And finally you come to the utility /boot room with plenty of storage, a washing machine & room for boots, coats and the dog. There is a door to the courtyard here.
The main garden is accessed off the living space and is lovely. Mostly laid to lawn there is a decent sized patio with a large garden table and seating for 6 guests. Fragrant climbers and a few selected shrubs together with the mellow brick wall give it a wonderful tucked away feel.
Parking for up to 3 cars is just outside the property.
The amazing sandy beach at Mundesley is a short drive (or even a walk ) away and is often over looked in comparison to its better known cousins at Holkham and Wells. In our opinion it is just as nice if not better ( quieter) and Mundesley has more to offer in the way of Tea Rooms and other place to sit and relax.
