Spend a fantastic holiday in this exquisitely restored cottage which occupies a premier position in the historic village of Blakeney, set along the North Norfolk Heritage Coast and area of outstanding beauty. It is just a 2 minute walk to the quayside and the views from the cottage are amongst the best from any cottage in the village.

Hop on a boat at Blakeney Quay (100 yards) or Morston Quay (1.5 miles) to see the famous seals at Blakeney Point. It’s a breeding site for seals so if you go during the winter (November – early January) you’re likely to see the seal pups that are born there. Blakeney is also an excellent place for birdwatching. Alternatively, visitors may like to try their hand at crabbing, a perpetually popular activity with guests of all ages and rather a relaxing way to spend an afternoon by the water. Food lovers are spoilt for choice from the Michelin starred restaurant "Morston Hall" (1 mile) to an array of local pubs, restaurants and delis. For a little country exploration head inland to the Holt Country Park (7 miles) or down the coast to Sheringham Park (9 miles) away. Further away you’ll find the majestic Holkham Hall & Estate. Take a trip across to Cromer (14 miles) and taste the Cromer crab, a local delicacy, and head to the beach to watch the Cromer Pier Show, claiming to be the only end of pier variety show in the world.

Sleeping up to 8 guests, there's loads of space for your family to have a wonderful holiday getaway. Gather together and enjoy a fantastic holiday in North Norfolk from the comfort of this beautiful cottage. The North Norfolk coastline is a renowned natural space and a beautiful place for walking, sailing and golfing. Birdwatch and spot the many migrating birds that visit this coastline and discover the magnificent beaches.

Clean, white décor combined with warmer colours make this cottage feel welcoming. It’s set off nicely by wooden beams and charming traditional touches. The sitting room, at the front of the house has a bay window which affords uninterrupted views of the quay from the window seat, as well as a TV with Blu-ray player for relaxed evening entertainment.  Next to the sitting room a wonderful kitchen/diner allows the whole family to gather together for big breakfasts and evening meals. The room has been tastefully furnished in a country style and comes equipped with a Range cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, as well as offering a dining table seating eight. There is also a new cloakroom with WC and basin located on the ground floor. Wooden stairs lead from the kitchen to the first floor where there are three recently refurbished bedrooms, two pretty double rooms, the master with an en-suite WC and basin, whilst the other is a single room with an additional pull out bed. The new modern bathroom, also located on the first floor , has a power shower-over bath and WC and demisting mirrors. The cottage also benefits from a new high pressure hot and cold water system providing hot and cold water throughout and a new Monarch water softener. There is an additional sitting room with its beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace.  From the sitting room guests can enjoy the estuary views or simply cosy up and watch a favourite programme on the TV. Doors open onto Mariners Hill which commands the finest views in Blakeney and where guests can enjoy a cup of tea / glass of wine and watch the sunsets over the estuary.

In keeping with the age, character and location of the cottage, please be aware that there are a few internal steps between different rooms and some low doorways.

Outside, there’s a private south facing courtyard garden which is a sun trap during the day and includes garden furniture where you can sit and share a drink beneath stars in this Dark Sky destination.

Overnight parking no longer allowed at the nearby National Trust parking, nearest reliable parking spaces 10mins walk away at the town hall, so lots of faffing around with the cars over the week we stayed. We are unlikely to come back to the Corner Cottage until this is changed back to how it used to be, which is a shame as we love staying at CC.

This cottage is in a fabulous location in Blakeney, and offered spacious, clean and attractive accommodation for our party of 8. It is however, an old building, on a sloping site. Mariners Hill says it all. So be prepared for low head height on the stairs, into the kitchen area etc, and quite a few changes of level on the ground floor. With this inRead more mind, this is not an ideal property for the elderly and toddlers. Otherwise, well recommended. Hide
