1 double bedroom, 1 single bedroom (with trundle bed), bathroom, sitting room/ diner, kitchen. Enclosed part walled garden, parking.
Originally part of the Holt Workhouse, and an 18th century grade II listed building. A sensitive renovation in 2010 has brought quality and charm to a delightful cottage, combining period character with modern facilities. The cottage has a pleasant outlook on the edge of Holt, yet an easy five-minute walk to the centre of town.
The cottage is set back behind its garden, which is mainly lawned with a pretty patio area and gravel parking space. The garden and patio face south-west and so provide a sunny spot.
A porch opens into the spacious, vaulted sitting/dining room with wood-burning stove and brick chimney. This is an atmospheric room, comfortable and furnished to a high quality. The cottage is all on one level with under-floor heating throughout, and the modern cream shaker-style kitchen is tucked away yet open to the sitting room. The dining table is conveniently set just in front of the open archway to the sitting room. There’s also a super period dresser, which adds a touch of individuality to the kitchen.
Located off the sitting room is the double bedroom. Small but well fitted with an oak wardrobe and bedside tables with drawers. The bedroom and sitting room windows overlook the garden. Off the porch is the single room – again a cosy room, snug and comfortable. It is ideal for one, but can accommodate two with the trundle bed. The bathroom is super – spacious, with separate bath and walk-in shower, heated towel rail, and quality fittings.
Blackbird Cottage is an easy stroll to the centre of town where you can find a myriad of independent shops from antiques to delis, pubs and cafes. There is easy access to the beautiful, award-winning beaches of the North Norfolk coast, and surrounding countryside.
