Situated in the peaceful village of Aldborough, this homely cottage is perfect for a family looking to explore and enjoy the best of Norfolk and is just 8 miles from the coast.

With a village green and a foodie pub, the quiet village of Aldborough is well placed for exploring Norfolk. The popular seaside resort of Cromer is just 8 miles away, famous for freshly caught seafood and end-of-pier entertainment, with museums, golf, tennis and Amazonia Zoo. Local National Trust properties to visit include Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall and Sheringham Park. Sandy picturesque beaches are easily accessible all along the coast, with resident seals at Blakeney Point. Hire a boat for the day and explore the vast waterways of the famous Broads, or head to the cathedral city of Norwich with its shops, restaurants, museums, castle and historic buildings, just 40 minutes away.

You enter this characterful semi-detached property into the lobby, where you can kick off those walking boots. The first room you arrive in is the dining area, which has a table and six chairs and provides a perfect place to serve a formal dinner or a light snack, ready for a day exploring the local area. The chef of the group will feel at home with the use of an electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine. There is a downstairs family bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC, located off the kitchen, with access to the back garden. Heading back through the dining room, on the left-hand side is the spacious living space, which is split into two areas for you to relax in. The main lounge has a large armchair and a comfortable three-seater sofa and television with a DVD player, so get cosy with loved ones whilst watching a movie. There is also a snug area with a small armchair suitable for a child, a two-seater sofa and another armchair, along with access to a small decking and seating area in the back garden. Heading up the stairs, you have a choice of three bedrooms, all with ample storage space for your belongings and clothes. The master bedroom is king-size, bedroom two is a twin room, and finally, bedroom three is more suitable for children as it is a single room with bunk beds. There is also a WC on the first floor.

Outside there is a garden, gravel area with table and chairs and a small decking area, again with chairs so you can follow the sun around the garden whilst enjoying some drinks or a spot of al fresco dining. There is a lovely summer house which offers another place to relax on a nice day. Cyclists will be able to store their bicycles in a lockable shed. Please note there is a pond which, although isn’t deep and is very small, could be a hazard for small children, so it is advised to keep them supervised. To the front of the property is an off-road driveway which can take up to two cars, and to the right-hand side of the property, down the side lane, there is another private off-road driveway which can take a further two cars, and a gate which leads into the back garden.

A well presented charming Cottage facing the Village Green. Locals are really friendly and the Village Shop is well stocked with many fresh goods. Plenty of local walks you can follow and the Village Pub is a great place to stop upon your return. Easy access to Cromer, Sheringham & Wells next the Sea if you fancy venturing out.

We had a wonderful week at Whistlestop. The lovely cottage was situated on a village green with a very handy local shop. The cottage had everything we needed for the family and dog and was well situated for a holiday exploring both broads and beaches. The owner was very responsive to any questions. We would love to return another time!
